Customer Service – What Is It Worth in 2026?

In a time when automation, chatbots, and self-service solutions have become the norm, it’s fair to ask:
what is good customer service really worth today – and in the years to come?

At Montejaur, we’ve chosen a slightly different path.

A Proven Flagpole Christmas Tree – and a Deliberate Service Philosophy

Our flagpole Christmas tree is a proven product, used year after year as outdoor Christmas lighting in both private gardens and public spaces. The design is simple, durable, and built for Nordic conditions.

But we also know that the product itself is only one part of the experience.
The other part is how it feels to be a customer.

That’s why, despite ongoing digitalisation and efficiency initiatives, we’ve chosen to prioritise direct, personal contact.

Yes, We Answer the Phone – and It Works

At Montejaur, there is a phone number you can call.
And we answer.

We respond to emails within 24 hours at the latest – often sooner. We’ve also noticed that it works perfectly well to speak Scandinavian. Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish usually get the job done when the goal is to solve things clearly and efficiently.

We see our customers as people, not order numbers. In practice, that means we:

  • manually remove invoice fees for returning customers

  • adjust shipping costs when multiple items fit in the same package

  • contact customers if the suggested pickup location is unreasonably far away

  • always interpret warranty cases generously when they’re borderline

This applies regardless of whether the product is a 6 m or 8 m flagpole Christmas tree, or a larger installation for public environments.

Is It Profitable? We Haven’t Calculated It.

We’re fully aware that this kind of customer service takes time.
And yes – it’s difficult to quantify in a spreadsheet.

But we do know one thing: it’s appreciated.

That’s clearly reflected in our Trustpilot reviews, where customers often highlight service, accessibility, and dialogue just as much as the product itself.

Have we calculated the profitability of this approach?
No.
And we don’t intend to.

Customer Service as Part of the Product

In a world where many products are becoming increasingly similar, we believe that personal service, responsibility, and common sense will become even more important differentiators.

For us, customer service is not an add-on – it’s part of the product.
And just like our flagpole Christmas trees are built to last for many years, Montejaur is built to be reachable.

Also in 2026.
